At our core we are a Chinese Medicine informational website. We are also working towards building and supporting the larger Chinese Medicine community. In addition to freely sharing a broad array of foundational and modern Chinese Medicine theories, research and applications, we aim to connect Chinese Medicine practitioners with each other along with their respective schools and state associations.

Gallbladder Shu (UB19)ub19
  • Shao Yang level diseases, alternating fever and chills.
  • Main point for damp heat in the Liver and Gall Bladder: hepatitis, cholecystitis, jaundice, vomiting, flank pain and distension, bitter taste in the mouth. Often combined with the LV Shu (UB 18).
  • UB 17 & UB 19 are classcially known as the "Four Flowers," useful for tonifying the Blood.
  • Pain along the GB meridian (sides of the body) from any etiology, intercostal neuralgia, rib pain, trauma, herpes zoster.
  • Gall Bladder related emotional issues: indecision, timidity, fear.  As well as damp-heat related psycho-emotional issues such as insomnia, anxiety (often with bitter taste in the mouth), palpitations.

TCM Herb of the Day

Lotus Leaf (He Ye)he ye (lotus leaf)
  • Treats summerheat patterns - fever, irritability, excessive sweating, scanty urine, diarrhea due to summerheat.
  • Raises and clears the spleen yang - diarrhea due to spleen deficiency, especially after summer-heat.
  • Stops bleeding - lower burner bleeding due to heat or stagnation, also for vomiting blood.

TCM Formula of the Day

Tangkuei Powder (Dang Gui Wan)dang gui (chinese angelica root)
  • For recovery of qi and blood after acute trauma or accident, similar in usage to ba zhen wan.
  • A range of menstrual issues when they arise from qi and blood deficiency - amenorrhea, menorrhagia, irregular cycles - also related fertility issues.
  • For pregnancy with the right diagnostic factors for habitual miscarriage, unstable pregnancy - as well as aiding with difficult labor and post-partum deficiencies such as weakness, anemia, and/or insufficient lactation.
  • Weakness and deficiencies from qi and blood deficiency generally - strong fatigue, orthostatic hypotension, anemia, floaters.
  • Any of the above issues may arise from malnutrition and/or eating disorder issues for which this formula may be supportive.
  • Vertigo/dizziness, possibly with anxiety and/or palpitations from blood deficiency.
