At our core we are a Chinese Medicine informational website. We are also working towards building and supporting the larger Chinese Medicine community. In addition to freely sharing a broad array of foundational and modern Chinese Medicine theories, research and applications, we aim to connect Chinese Medicine practitioners with each other along with their respective schools and state associations.

  • Promotes urination, drains dampness, transforms phlegm - urinary difficulty, diarrhea, edema, headache, dizziness, greasy tongue coat.
  • Strengthens the spleen, harmonizes the middle jiao - diarrhea, loss of appetite.
  • Quiets the heart and calms the spirit - palpitations, insomnia, forgetfulness.

TCM Formula of the Day

Bupleurum, Cinnamon Twig and Ginger Decoction (Chai Hu Gui Zhi Gan Jiang Wan)chai hu (thorowax root, bupleurum)
  • Shaoyang disorder with water accumulation - A modification of xiao chai hu tang with gui zhi and gan jiang to work with mixed pattern cases of "heat above, cold below".  Generally for patients with exterior conditions that have not cleared with releasing treatments for more than 5 days to a week.  Common colds, flu - alternating periods of chills and fever, fullness/distention in the chest, irritability (shaoyang symptoms) with perspiration on the head/upper body, thirst, possibly painful urination and/or loose stools (water accumulation).
  • Insomnia with the right underlying factors.
